The Tiger Dixie Band systematically dedicates itself to the revival of Jazz from the ‘roaring twenties,’ presenting it with an original and contemporary interpretive approach. The typical atmospheres of New Orleans and Chicago Style, Charleston and Ragtime, are philologically respected in tone and spirit (also due to the use of some original instruments from that era). However, the sound is filtered through the modern musical experiences of the band members, who blend their expertise in various aspects of performance, from arrangement to improvisation, avoiding a purely revivalist result and instead emphasizing the desire to highlight how this genre of music has not aged more than Swing or Bebop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this album, dedicated to the relationship between jazz and European classical music, famous pages from the classical repertoire are reinterpreted in the Dixieland performing style. Through imaginative and sometimes irreverent interpretation and arrangement, some of the greatest composers’ most celebrated works are paraphrased. From Bizet’s “Carmen” to Rossini’s “La gazza ladra,” from Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” to Vivaldi’s “Spring,” from Bach’s “Minuet in G” to Debussy’s “Golliwogg’s Cake Walk.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Triveneto Band, part of the New Project Cultural Association, is composed of Paolo Trettel (trumpet), Stefano Menato (clarinet), Fiorenzo Zeni (tenor saxophone), Luigi Grata (trombone), Andrea Boschetti (banjo, guitar, and ukulele), Renzo De Rossi (piano), Giorgio Beberi (bass saxophone), Claudio Ischia (drums), and for this occasion, violinist Mattia Martorano appears as a special guest on several tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
